In Hamlet, Act III ends when Hamlet's killed old Polonius and realizes he's got no choice but to go off to England to his certain death. In Romeo & Juliet, Act III ends when Juliet learns that Romeo's been banished and decides to go off to Friar Laurence for his remedy. In my story? Act III ends when the characters all go to bed.

     Not exactly a classical Act III ending. But, hey, this ain't exactly classical lit'rature here. And I'd argue that the seeds planted before this point take root while the characters sleep here and sprout when Act IV begins the next morning. But then I would say something like that, wouldn't I?
