     The song's called "There is a Tavern in the Town," and it's a jaunty little ditty about betrayal and death. Some sources date it to 1891 while others just call it "traditional," but its melody is probably more familiar to most folks as the tune to which one sings the children's exercise song "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes."
