As for the phrase itself, it's been in our family since the mid-70s when my sister Lisa discovered it in a novel Galaxy magazine was serializing. Since then, I've found that I don't care much for the writings of the author who first penned the phrase--any SF fans out there know where it's from?--but as soon as I knew I was gonna do a story with frog people in it, I knew I'd hafta work it in.
