Gee, we haven't been in the weird little courtyard at Monty's place since the end of "Holiday," our twelfth storyline: that's been two years for us and three months for our characters. So much history!
Speaking of characters, though, in my continuing salute to my colleagues in the Daily Grind Contest, I'd like to introduce Eduard's father, Lemuel Varese. Lemuel, after all, was Gulliver's first name, and Gulliver is practically Gulius, the irascible bird-headed guy in Ryan Smith's Funny Farm. Ryan will be ending Funny Farm next month after 9 years, but he assured me at the Comic-Con International last week in San Diego that he'll have a new comic all ready to go so as not to drop from the contest.
