I'm guessing things might get a little explosive next week....
As for all this talk about Stiriat, that's where Tharka's from originally--I've hinted about that here and there, I'm pretty sure, but this page from near the beginning of "The Apprentice," our 11th storyline, is the only one I can find right now. Of course, that was 120 years ago and he had a sister rather than a brother. So who this guy is and what he wants'll hafta wait till next week, too. And it'll be February by then, which means four weeks till the 5th anniversary of all this Daily Grind stuff!
On the "New Year's Resolution" front, it's been a year and a half now since my agent, Algis Budrys, passed away, so I've been thinking I should probably start trying to hook another. It was quite a fortuitous happenstance, then, that a friend of mine sent me a link to a contest being run by Mary Kole of the Andrea Brown Literary Agency: from now till January 31st, she'll look at the first 500 words of anyone's YA novel, and the five or so submissions she likes best, she'll look at the next couple pages of.
So the first 498 words of Rat's Reputation are heading her way. What the heck, right?
