Timing!
The new keyboard is working just fine, but it plugs into a USB port rather than into the PS/2 port. And now, the mouse that plugs into the PS/2 port next door has stopped working--I had to finish today's page using the old serial mouse from the old DOS computer. I think it must be the PS/2 ports that have gone out...
