I should probably mention that the title of this chapter is largely stolen from Cordwainer Smith's story "A Game of Rat and Dragon." Except that, for the most part, while Smith wrote the stories, his friend, agent, and fellow writer Fredrick Pohl came up with the titles. So maybe I'm stealing from Pohl? Either way, the title's inspired by one--or two--of the greatest SF writers to ever put words on paper.
