Ah, romance...
As for the case of the potential serial killer mentioned here, we first learned about that in the middle of our 110th storyline, "Glottal Stop," and it last got mentioned near the beginning of our 114th storyline, "A Tickle in the Throat." That was the last of the comic-book-style stories around here and apparently happened about two-and-a-half months before this current storyline.
