If you took my advice on Friday and re-read all the Nulla Lucis stuff from a couple years back, then you already know about the odd relationship between everyone's favorite evil spider and Howlett. So I'll just highlight the gift-giving part: Howlett inadvertenly gave Madame Lucia a piece of wisdom that eventually changed her entire view of the universe near the end of our 20th storyline, "Hypocrisy," and Lucia reciprocated by not killing Howlett near the end of "Point of Order," our 23rd storyline.
