See, I told myself that if I got one more piece of "guest art," I'd actually construct a separate page for such material. Up till now, I've been attaching it to whatever page was current on the day I received the art, so it's all scattered about in the archives. Which I figured that was fine for the two or three pieces I had. But should a fourth one come along...
And so, with the receipt of these fine "link icons" courtesy of a reader using the monicker Xanthian, I guess I've got no choice put to present the other wonderful stuff folks have sent me over the years.
For the portraits I commissioned to celebrate Daily Grind's 3rd and 4th anniversaries, however, you'll be wanting to head over to the 3rd Anniversary Portraits and 4th Anniversary Portraits pages. And Roz Gibson's preliminary designs for Daily Grind, Mark II can be found here. Everything else follows.
The first came back in March, 2005 during the second month of the Contest. Jason Turner, one of the contestants at the time, did it in tribute to Jolene and Mr. Squirrel, the character Miles Pekala, another former contestant, was featuring at the time. Jolene was working her way through the first storyline here, "The Crossing Guard," and Mr. Squirrel was in the process of being killed in a traffic accident, so that's the connection.
About a year later, in April of 2006, a long-time reader of my Terebinth series who goes by the name Lucius Appaloosius chimed in with another rendition of everyone's favorite psychotic squirrel grrl. Now this is what I call a splash page!
But the prize-winner as far as Daily Grind fan art is concerned is the pseudonymous Adie Spiffystuff. She sent in these sketches of Howlett in March of 2006 during storyline number ten, "Sons of the Black Swan"--
--and then later that year did some character studies of both Jolene--
--and Tharka.
So thanks to all these folks for taking pictures from my head and filtering them through their own heads! Pretty scary stuff!
And here, at the bottom of the page, I'll put a link back to the Sundries page, a link to the Main Page, and the e-mail address you can use to send in any Daily Grind drawings you might find lurking about your hard drive:
